Habituation of a Startle Response
This short clip shows habituation of a rat’s innate startle reflex to a loud noise.
The rat shows a decrease in the magnitude of the response as a function of repeated exposure to the noise. Audio is included, but an X is presented during presentations of the noise. How do we know the rat is habituated to the noise?
